Recently I have received several fraudulent e-mails which look like they are from Paypal concerning my account inactivity. The message tells me to follow the link to update my account or it will be automatically closed. I thought it sounded suspicious since I had just accessed my account within the week. Also, it addressed me as "Dear Paypal valued member" rather than by name. Several other sloppy red flags included mis-spelled words and weird wording. I clicked on the link and what looks like the Paypal homepage comes up, however the URL is just an IP address rather than a secure login page. These scammers are trying to get people to log on with their account info and get their credit card/bank info. I traced the address, did a whois lookup and reported them to paypal. Hopefully their server will get shut down soon. Anyway, I just wanted to warn as many people as I could about this fairly recent scam. Remember, Paypal will never ask you for confidential information like this without giving you the last four digits of your primary credit card. Also, never follow an e-mail link to log into your account.
